Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using BookLocalPG ("Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.

2. Description of Service

BookLocalPG provides an online booking and scheduling platform for small businesses in Prince George, BC. The Service allows businesses to:

  • Create and manage booking pages
  • Accept online appointments from customers
  • Manage services and availability
  • Communicate with customers via email

3. User Accounts

To use the Service, you must:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintain the security of your password and account
  • Promptly notify us of any unauthorized use of your account
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account

4. Pricing

4.1 Free Service

BookLocalPG is completely free for all service providers. There are no subscription fees, no commissions, and no feature restrictions. All features, including unlimited services and bookings, are available at no cost. We reserve the right to modify the features or availability of the Service at any time.

4.2 Donations

BookLocalPG accepts voluntary, one-time donations to help cover hosting, development, and operational costs. Donations are processed securely through Stripe. Donations are entirely optional, do not unlock additional features, and are non-refundable. Donating does not entitle you to any special treatment, priority support, or additional rights beyond those described in these Terms.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Violate any laws or regulations
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights
  • Transmit harmful code or malware
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Use the Service for fraudulent purposes
  • Register or operate a provider account for a business you are not authorized to represent
  • Impersonate or misrepresent your affiliation with any person, business, or entity
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users or customers
  • Provide misleading or false information about your services
  • Repeatedly fail to honor confirmed bookings
  • Misuse customer data collected through the Service
  • Send spam or misleading communications through our email system
  • Create fake or fraudulent bookings
  • Operate illegal or unlicensed services
  • Engage in any activity that damages the reputation or integrity of BookLocalPG

6. Bookings and Customer Interactions

As a business user, you are responsible for:

  • Honoring confirmed bookings
  • Maintaining accurate service information and availability
  • Responding to customer inquiries in a timely manner
  • Complying with your own cancellation and reschedule policies
  • Providing services as described on your booking page

7. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using BookLocalPG, you consent to our collection and use of personal data as outlined in the Privacy Policy.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by BookLocalPG and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You retain ownership of content you submit through the Service, but grant us a license to use, display, and distribute it as necessary to provide the Service.

9. Account Suspension

We reserve the right to suspend your account and access to the Service at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms. Reasons for suspension include, but are not limited to:

  • Breach of these Terms or Acceptable Use policy
  • Fraudulent or deceptive activity
  • Violation of applicable laws or regulations
  • Operating illegal, unlicensed, or prohibited services
  • Repeated customer complaints regarding service quality or conduct
  • Misuse of customer data or our email communication system
  • Operating a provider account from outside Prince George, BC, or the surrounding area — BookLocalPG is a community platform exclusively for local service providers, and we reserve the right to suspend or disable accounts identified as not being based in or near Prince George
  • Operating a provider account without authorization from the business owner — if a legitimate business owner reports that their business is being represented without their consent, we will investigate and may suspend or remove the unauthorized account
  • Any activity that harms customers, other users, or BookLocalPG's reputation

9.1 Suspension Process

When your account is suspended, you will receive an email notification explaining the reason for the suspension. During suspension:

  • You will not be able to access your dashboard
  • Your booking page will be temporarily unavailable to customers
  • Existing bookings may be affected

9.2 Appeal Process

If you believe your account was suspended in error, you may appeal by contacting us at support@booklocalpg.com. We will review your case and respond within 5 business days. We reserve the right to uphold or lift the suspension at our sole discretion.

9.3 Reporting Impersonation

If you are a business owner and believe someone has created an unauthorized account representing your business on BookLocalPG, please contact us immediately at support@booklocalpg.com. We will investigate all impersonation reports and take appropriate action, which may include suspending or permanently removing the unauthorized account.

9.4 Account Data

Suspended accounts are not deleted. Your data remains stored in accordance with our Privacy Policy. If your suspension is lifted, you will regain full access to your account and data.

10. Limitation of Liability

BookLocalPG shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use or inability to use the Service. As the Service is provided free of charge, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed one hundred Canadian dollars ($100 CAD).

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes via email. Your continued use of the Service after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of British Columbia, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
